PetTrail AI (“PetTrail AI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a U.S.-based lost-pet recovery platform designed to help pet owners, finders, and authorized administrators share information, evaluate possible pet matches, and coordinate recovery efforts.

This Privacy Policy explains how PetTrail AI collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, applications, and related services.

PetTrail AI is based in the United States and may make its services available in selected areas throughout the United States.

Depending on how you use PetTrail AI, we may collect:

Account Information

• Account preferences

Pet Information

• Pet name
• Species and breed
• Colors and physical characteristics
• Size, approximate age, and weight
• Collar, harness, accessories, and distinguishing markings

Found-Pet and Sighting Information

Users may submit information about animals they have found or possibly seen, including photographs, descriptions, approximate locations, dates, times, and other information that may assist with identifying an animal.

PetTrail AI may restrict information shown to other users to protect finder privacy and location information.

Recovery and Reward Information

We may maintain records concerning reported recoveries, administrative verification, finder attribution, disputes, reward decisions, and related audit records.

A reward attribution or administrative decision does not necessarily mean that money has been paid or transferred.

Location information is important to lost-pet recovery.

PetTrail AI may collect locations supplied by owners, finders, or other users, including last-seen locations and locations associated with sightings or found animals.

We may generalize, limit, or otherwise restrict location information before displaying it to other users when appropriate for privacy or safety.

Users should not use location information obtained through PetTrail AI to harass, stalk, threaten, trespass upon, or otherwise harm another person.

PetTrail AI uses automated visual-analysis technology to assist with evaluating whether photographs may depict the same or a similar animal.

Our systems may create mathematical representations or image embeddings from pet photographs. These representations can be compared to help identify potentially similar animals.

AI-generated similarity information is advisory only.

A similarity score or AI-generated candidate:

• does not establish that two animals are the same;
• does not prove ownership;
• does not automatically link a found animal to a missing-pet case;
• does not automatically declare a pet recovered; and
• does not automatically determine entitlement to a reward.

PetTrail AI incorporates human review and verification into its recovery process.

We may use information to:

• Provide and operate PetTrail AI
• Create and manage accounts
• Maintain pet profiles
• Publish and manage missing-pet cases
• Process found-pet and sighting reports
• Generate possible-match candidates
• Perform AI-assisted visual similarity analysis
• Assist authorized administrators with candidate review
• Notify owners of possible matches or requests for additional information
• Coordinate recovery verification
• Maintain reward and attribution records
• Prevent fraud, abuse, spam, and misuse
• Maintain security and audit records
• Process applicable service payments
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve PetTrail AI

PetTrail AI is designed to limit unnecessary disclosure of finder and reporter information.

Information submitted privately by a finder or reporter, including private notes or identifying information, may be restricted to authorized personnel and is not necessarily shown to a pet owner or the public.

We may disclose information when necessary to comply with law, protect users or animals, investigate fraud or abuse, or respond to valid legal process.

Certain PetTrail AI services may require payment.

Payment processing may be provided by Stripe or another disclosed payment processor.

PetTrail AI does not need to store complete payment-card numbers when payment information is processed directly by the payment provider. The payment processor may collect and process payment information according to its own privacy policy and terms.

We may maintain transaction information necessary to identify a payment, service purchased, amount, status, and associated PetTrail AI case.

Users may choose to offer rewards in connection with missing-pet cases.

PetTrail AI may maintain information concerning reward offers, recovery verification, potential finder attribution, administrative decisions, and disputes.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, displaying an attribution decision, reward status, or possible recipient does not establish that payment has occurred.

Additional reward/payment rules may apply before PetTrail AI begins facilitating actual reward transfers.

We may share information:

• With users when necessary to provide a feature they requested
• With authorized PetTrail AI administrators
• With service providers that help operate the platform
• With payment processors
• When required by law or valid legal process
• When reasonably necessary to protect users, animals, PetTrail AI, or others

We do not sell personal information simply for monetary payment.

No Internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
