PetTrail AI Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of PetTrail AI.

By creating an account or using PetTrail AI, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

PetTrail AI is a U.S.-based lost-pet recovery platform that helps pet owners, finders, and authorized administrators exchange information and evaluate possible matches.

PetTrail AI may initially provide services in selected geographic areas and may expand, restrict, or modify its service areas over time.

PetTrail AI provides tools intended to assist lost-pet recovery.

We do not guarantee that a missing animal will be located, identified, returned, or recovered.

Search results, sightings, possible matches, AI similarity information, alerts, and administrative review are tools to assist recovery efforts and should not be interpreted as guarantees.

PetTrail AI may use artificial intelligence or machine-learning systems to compare photographs and identify potential similarities.

AI results are advisory evidence only.

A high similarity score does not:

• prove that two animals are identical;
• establish ownership;
• automatically establish a successful recovery;
• automatically link cases;
• determine reward entitlement; or
• replace human judgment.

PetTrail AI’s recovery workflow may require owner actions and administrative verification.

You agree to provide information that you reasonably believe to be accurate.

You may not knowingly submit:

• False missing-pet reports
• False found-pet reports
• Fraudulent sightings
• Photos you have no right to use
• Misleading ownership claims
• Fraudulent reward claims
• Information intended to harass or endanger another person

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

You retain ownership of content you submit to the extent you own that content.

By uploading content to PetTrail AI, you grant PetTrail AI a non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, process, analyze, display, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate and improve the services you requested.

This includes processing photographs for AI-assisted pet matching.

You represent that you have the necessary rights or permission to submit the content.

PetTrail AI may permit owners to create missing-pet cases and other users to submit found-pet or possible-sighting information.

A sighting or found report is not confirmation that the animal is the missing pet.

Users should exercise reasonable care before approaching animals, entering private property, meeting strangers, or taking other actions based upon information obtained through PetTrail AI.

PetTrail AI does not authorize trespassing or unlawful conduct.

You may not attempt to circumvent PetTrail AI’s privacy protections to identify, locate, contact, harass, threaten, or obtain private information about a finder, reporter, owner, or other user.

PetTrail AI may restrict exact locations, private notes, contact information, and other information when appropriate.

Reporting that a pet is home does not necessarily cause the case to be automatically marked as a verified recovery.

PetTrail AI may use an administrative verification process before changing a case to a verified recovery state.

This process is intended to protect the integrity of recovery and reward records.

Owners may be permitted to offer a reward associated with a missing-pet case.

PetTrail AI may provide tools for recording potential attribution among a finder, PetTrail AI, or other qualifying recipient depending upon the applicable arrangement.

A reward attribution decision or status shown within PetTrail AI does not necessarily mean that money has been paid or transferred.

Disputes may be subject to an administrative review process.

PetTrail AI does not guarantee that a reward will be offered, collected, distributed, or successfully recovered from any person.

Additional reward terms may apply before PetTrail AI begins facilitating actual reward transfers.

PetTrail AI may offer optional paid search-assistance services, including services identified as PetTrail AI Find.

Prices and applicable terms will be displayed before purchase.

Payment of a service fee purchases access to the described service. It does not guarantee recovery of a missing animal.

PetTrail AI may modify available plans or pricing for future purchases.

Payments may be processed through Stripe or another disclosed payment processor.

By purchasing a paid service, you authorize the applicable charge presented at checkout.

Payment processors may impose their own terms.

PetTrail AI does not guarantee that all payment methods will always be available.

PetTrail AI wants users to understand what they are purchasing before payment.

If you purchase a paid PetTrail AI service and request cancellation before the paid service has begun, you may request a refund, subject to any processing limitations and applicable law.

Once PetTrail AI has begun providing the purchased search-assistance service, fees may be non-refundable because resources and services may already have been provided.

If a service was purchased accidentally, was charged incorrectly, could not be provided because of a PetTrail AI technical problem, or other exceptional circumstances exist, contact support@pettrailai.com. We will review the request and may issue a full or partial refund when appropriate.

Nothing in this policy limits refund, cancellation, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Payment for PetTrail AI Find or another paid service does not guarantee that a missing pet will be located or recovered.

You may not use PetTrail AI to:

• Commit fraud
• Harass, stalk, threaten, or intimidate another person
• Abuse reward systems
• Submit knowingly false reports
• Impersonate another person
• Access another person's account without authorization
• Circumvent security or privacy protections
• Scrape or harvest personal information
• Interfere with the service
• Introduce malicious code
• Use location information for unlawful purposes
• Violate applicable law

PetTrail AI may restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, animals, the platform, or others; investigate suspected fraud or abuse; comply with law; or enforce these Terms.

We work to keep PetTrail AI available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

Features may be modified, temporarily unavailable, or discontinued.

AI systems, third-party infrastructure, mapping/location information, payment systems, and other technical services may occasionally produce errors or become unavailable.

PetTrail AI’s branding, software, interface, original content, and other proprietary materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

These Terms do not transfer ownership of PetTrail AI’s intellectual property to users.

PetTrail AI may rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, databases, payments, maps, AI technology, and other infrastructure.

PetTrail AI is not responsible for third-party services beyond the extent required by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, PetTrail AI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not warrant that AI results, sightings, user submissions, location information, possible matches, or other information will always be accurate, complete, or current.

Nothing on PetTrail AI constitutes veterinary, legal, law-enforcement, or emergency advice.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, PetTrail AI will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for losses or claims resulting from your intentional unlawful use of PetTrail AI, fraudulent submissions, violation of another person’s rights, or submission of content that you knowingly do not have permission to use.

This provision does not limit consumer rights or impose responsibility where doing so would be prohibited by applicable law.

These Terms are generally governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection or other laws require otherwise.

This provision does not eliminate rights that cannot lawfully be waived based on where you live.

PetTrail AI may provide services in multiple U.S. states.

Availability in a particular location does not mean that every feature is offered there.

We may modify geographic availability based on operational, legal, safety, or technical considerations.

We may update these Terms as PetTrail AI develops.

When material changes are made, we may provide notice through the service, email, or another reasonable method.

Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
